No previous singing experience or skill is necessary to attend. SLAK: Galveston Movement Thursday, Jun 12th 6:00p to 8:30p Join SLAK for a potluck dinner and an engaging presentation on the Galveston Movement—a fascinating and often overlooked chapter in Jewish American history. This initiative helped resettle thousands of Jewish immigrants through the Port of Galveston (yes, in Texas!). We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Joshua Furman from the University of Denver’s Center for Judaic Studies and the Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society as our speaker for the evening. Jewish Women's Retreat Friday, Sep., 5th to Sunday, Sep 7th Join Rabbi Sarah Shulman, Gitit Kaufman, and a dynamic group of Jewish women for a relaxing and reinvigorating weekend celebrating Shabbat, friendship, Torah study, hiking, and spirituality at Ramah in the Rockies. HEA Choir Initiative - SHIRU! (Singing Here, In Ru’ach and Unity) The mission of the SHIRU! is to enhance Jewish identity and community engagement through lifelong involvement in choral singing. To that end, the SHIRU is launching three choirs: Nevatim (sprouts): Kids choir for grades 2-5, Kaftorim (buds): Youth choir for grades 6-12, Prachim (flowers): Adult choir, open to ages 13 and up. Scholarships for Jewish Women If you know of any congregants or community members that identify as a woman and are hoping to further their education after high school, or, might be an older, returning student later in life, the National Council of Jewish Women, Colorado Section will be awarding a number of scholarships to Jewish women in need of assistance with their tuition to college or technical school attendance fall 2025. Our scholarships are need-based, with merit and community service taken into account. If you know of someone who meets the criteria, we invite them to apply for a National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW), Colorado Section Scholarship. The completed application due date is April 6.
